I didn't have to have a narrative in any of my images (not that they had much before) i could just draw anything because I felt like it... in fact i didn't even have to draw at all. I could get a picture out of a book and use that.
so I thought... what the hell... im going to draw patterns with flowers from the 50's and 60's... darn it because i want to!
Then the designs turned into the fillers for tattoos.... and then just playing around i got into mehndi.... and from there i went wild.
I wanted to give mehndi a contempary twist. Playfulling incorporating the incredibly detailed designs onto patterns that were not as ornate.
and i thought that htese would be perfect as ceramic decals!
